Poser 4.0 Tutorials: A Grab Bag of Tips

The documentation for Poser has always been its weakest link. There are, fortunately, whole communities of people not only willing to help, but writing tutorials that are valuable and informative. You will find a section on tutorials at Renderosity, the premier Poser/3D art community. An excellent resource for tutorials is Poser Arcana. Here is a list of some other tutorials I've found useful.
All too often, I've found myself stuck on what should be the simplest Poser problems (such as how to control the Flyaround view, undocumented and maddening). Some I've eventually solved, and these tutorials are attempts to share what I've learned.
That said, these are not tutorials focussing on professional extensions or arcane nuances of Poser usage. They are not a coherent program of lessons that will bring you to a new plateau of understanding. They assume that you have Poser and have been using it long enough to be familiar with the controls. They represent workarounds and solutions I have found for undocumented or obscurely documented functions, tasks, or features. They attempt to reduce the frustration level of learning this powerful product by addressing common but rather difficult problems.
I worried, when I began putting the first one together, that my solutions might not be the most efficient, that my approaches to problems might be the equivalent of the fellow who learns how to use a screwdriver and then sees all problems as screws.... I anticipated being politely (or impolitely) corrected by real professionals who know how one is supposed to solve the problems I have improvised solutions for. And I thought, "Oh well."
